On stage as in the studio, Jéroboam is one of the most exciting funk projects to emerge in the last three years. With its energy and original compositions (released on renowned labels such as Space Grapes, Chuwanaga, Favorite Recordings), this 12 piece band offers and performs some of the best in contemporary disco funk and rare groove, reviving and renewing the spirit of the greatest 70’s/80’s bands.
JÉROBOAM is a parisian soul funk outfit already known as Echoes Of, coming with an extensive live experience and a strong reputation between Paris and London. Besides their popular tribute parties to the American cities of funk, they also got noticed for their much impressive and respected Echoes Of Prince special tribute show, which has been running since 2019. Moreover, these french musicians turned out to be an essential backing band for Howard Johnson, Junior Giscombe and most recently for Kyoto Jazz Massive, with whom they tour and record successfully as Echoes Of A New Dawn Orchestra.
In 2022, they started focusing and working on their own original material as Jéroboam for Space Grapes Records (Danilo Plessow’s label). Their two first 12 inches “Freakshow / Mystic Beauty” (december 2022) and “Turn Down The Lights / Take Me To New York” (september 2023) sold 2500 copies each, displaying some of the best contemporary disco funk music ! A third one “Brexit Funk / Peckham Night” (september 2024) on Chuwanaga Records was a very special double side inspired by the late 70’s early 80’s Brit Funk genre, selling 1500 copies. In July 2025, Jéroboam came back on Space Grapes with “See The Light / In the Spirit” (almost 2000 copies in 2 months) and plan a last EP in december.
2026 will be the turning point for the 12 piece band which has been touring a lot during the past 3 years, perfecting their show, improving their craft and testing exclusive songs to create their own crossover sound. This exciting body of work will be recorded and featured on a full LP expected in spring 2026.
