After a career spanning more than twenty-five years, Malted Milk, from Nantes, France, have established themselves as a major force on the blues and soul scene. The group has been able to renew itself with talented musicians and outstanding collaborations. Their reputation is built on their energy in concert, whether at Europe’s biggest festivals like Jazz à Vienne, Jazz à Marciac or the North Sea Jazz Festival, or in more intimate venues, where their mastery of instruments and their connection with the audience create memorable performances. Each performance is distinguished by a palpable intensity, blending the authenticity of blues with the warmth of soul, accompanied by a dynamic brass section that amplifies their sound.

Their new album *1975* marks an introspective turn for the band. Inspired by Arnaud Fradin’s birth date, the album explores personal themes while questioning the state of the world today and the human condition. More than a simple tribute to its own history, *1975* delves into a universal reflection, supported by carefully crafted compositions and ambitious production. To enrich this project, Malted Milk has enlisted the services of Italian guitarist and singer Marco Cinelli, a member of the group The Cinelli Brothers, whose arrangements and writing add a new depth to the album.
On stage, Malted Milk shines with the quality of its musicians: Arnaud Fradin on guitar and vocals, Igor Pichon on bass, Damien Cornelis on keyboards, Richard Housset on drums, Eric Chambouleyron on guitars, and a brass section featuring Vincent Aubert (trombone) and Pierre-Marie Humeau (trumpet), all add extra energy to their performances. They don’t hesitate to enrich their sound by inviting backing singers or integrating strings and percussion, and by inviting prestigious guests like on the album “Milk & Green”, the fruit of their collaboration with American singer Toni Green, where the soul/blues alchemy takes on its full meaning/ They have also collaborated with Hugh Coltman and Ben l’Oncle Soul. The septet are always trying to push the boundaries of these genres, creating lively music that is both rooted in tradition and resolutely modern, confirming their status as pioneers on the national soul blues groove scene.
