CHANGE is often compared to “CHIC” and the “SOS BAND”.

The band was formed in 1980 in Bologna, Italy, as a soulful-pop-R&B-oriented studio project, masterminded by Guadeloupean business man, Jacques Fred Petrus and his Italian musical partner Mauro Malavasi. Together with bassist Davide Romani and guitar player Paolo Gianolio, they laid down a number of Chic-inspired grooves in Bologna, Italy, and ended up hiring hot New York session singers Jocelyn Brown and Luther Vandross.

Released in April 1980, “The Glow of Love” album soared to the Top 10 on the Billboard Disco Charts, yielding the hit singles "A Lover's Holiday", "The Glow of Love” and “Searching". It even became Billboard's #1 Disco Album of 1980. The following years Change had several more hit singles – featuring different lead vocalists - including “Hold Tight”, “Miracles”, “Heaven Of My Life”, “Paradise”, “Change of Heart” (produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis), “Let’s Go Together” and “Mutual Attraction”.

When Petrus was murdered in 1986, Change ceased to be as a recording group, but while other band members moved on to other projects, singer Rick Brennan (who joined the band in 1983) has always continued to perform the hits of Change as a live act. Following a very successful UK tour in December 2024 (performing 13 shows, selling out 8 venues), Change has already confirmed several UK festival shows for the Summer of 2025 and are planning to also perform shows in Europe.
