In a nutshell

« Bob Baldwin is a talking/playing parellel, moving comfortably between radio and as a pianist. When he was 4 years young, his dad taught him his first jazz composition, Duke Ellington's "Satin Doll". In 1987, he arranged music for Tom Browne for one of the first ever Gospel-Jazz recordings. 1989, Roberta Flack selected him as the Sony Innovators Award. In 2000, he meandered down to South Africa with countryman Marion Meadows to search out a band-for-hire for the Standard Bank Jazz Festival. 2004 brought him to Brazil where he hired an Engineer that spoke Portuguese and English in lieu of his recording appropriately titled, "Brazil Chill". In 2008, he jumpstarted NewUrbanJazz radio format, which craftfully fuses Jazz, Urban and Brazilian music. So what's next for this Innovator? How about Bob Baldwin's Percussive Drum Experience?

"For me, the journey is far more important than the destination", says the native New Yorker. "Bob Baldwin's Percussive Drum Experience fuses Brazilian with Latin grooves and explores the music and the likes of Jon Lucien, Herbie Hancock, Santana as well as my own hits. It's an honor to display this great ensemble not only to Europe, but the world".

Phil Hamilton has worked live with Luther Vandross the last 8 years before he passed. He has worked on and off 20 years (including currently) with Roberta Flack and he's on Anita Baker's main guitarist list and has worked with her for the past 8 years as well.
